MEET COACH AUGIE

My Name is Augustine Agyei (Coach Augie). My brothers and I were born to Ghanian Parents who moved to Colorado shortly before I was born (hence the Blackstars name). I grew up in Aurora, Colorado, graduated from Smoky Hill High School, and was a dual sport athlete participating in both Track and Field and Football. I was a State Champion in the 300m hurdles and part of a 3x State Championship Program(2002-2005)while earning all-conference honors in football. I participated in both sports and earned all-conference awards for track and Field at Both Drake University and Western Washington University, along with all-conference awards for football at CSU- Pueblo.

Post-college, I was invited to attend the Cincinnati Bengals Rookie Minicamp(2010) and played in the Arena Football League (Utah Blaze) and the Indoor Football league( Tri-Cities Fever, Utah Blaze, and Colorado Ice). I am currently a Performance Coach and Director of NFL Combine Prep at Landow Performance in Centennial, Colorado.

I stumbled upon my passion for coaching shortly after my playing career had ended. I started coaching High school Football and Track and Field in 2013 and have not turned back. I love to watch the mechanics of any movement from any sport, but I have an extreme passion for teaching sprint mechanics. Track and Field have helped me compete at a high level for football, providing opportunities and experiences that I can never forget. I aim to hopefully give the same opportunities and experiences to all athletes that I can!
